Fall 2023 Trends and Styling Tips

As Autumn quickly leads into winter, we’re seeing new beautiful trends in color and styling. Runways were packed with lingerie-inspired or lingerie-forward looks, bringing underwear into the limelight as an essential part of a fashionable wardrobe. What you’re wearing matters more than ever with sheer looks coming back in Spring/Summer runways and autumn being full of creative styling of lingerie into an outfit. In this article, we’ll explore this season's hottest colors and styling trends.

According to WGSN, a leading fashion trend-spotting company, 5 colors are leading the pack this autumn, and through all of them, we see a huge shift towards bold, vibrant colors. Galactic Cobalt, a rich deep blue nods to winter, while Astro Dust, a warm, ruddy mauve brings in a soft but powerful contrast. Also in the running are Apricot Crush, the perfect blend of blush, orange, and yellow; Digital Lavender, a pastel with a punch; and Sage Leaf, the classic calming green.

In styling, we’re seeing a return of the chemise as a wardrobe staple. The classic piece resembles a dress with a softer, less structured form. Often made of satin or luxurious silk, they can range from minimalist to garnished with luxurious lace. Rodarte, Tory Burch, and Anna Sui were only a few of the big names to present chemise-style pieces at their runways.

We’re also seeing a return of sheer looks, beginning with Fall Winter runways but dominating the fashion world in this last fashion week presenting spring-summer looks. Detailed sheer pieces are elevated by clean basics beneath, such as those by Commando and Cosabella, or basic sheers presenting a barely there cover to intricate designs beneath. We love Livenza bralettes for statement pieces, with their detailed lace and eye-catching designs, or Thistle and Spire’s stunning pieces that demand center stage and seem to only get better with a sheer cover like the London Shirt from iCollection or the Stay Simple bodysuit from Undress Code.

Lingerie Care

Lingerie can be a tricky thing to care for, especially when dealing with fine craftsmanship, luxurious bras, or high-quality materials that can’t wash with other garments.

Do’s:

  • When in doubt, hand wash with warm, not hot, water.
  • Dry naturally - hang up gently to avoid wrinkles.
  • Use a small amount of Soak Wash soap and gently massage your lingerie. No rinse necessary (Soak samples included with every online purchase). Click the link to view our Soak Wash products available for purchase.
  • Use a reusable laundry bag to keep your undergarments separate from other dirty garments. Click the link to view laundry bags available for purchase.
  • For loungewear, lay flat or hang gently to dry.
  • For loungewear, machine wash on warm, gentle settings. Hand wash advised.
  • For 100% silk products, dry clean, cold wash, and ironing ok. Handwashing may change the luster of silk.

Dont's:

  • Wash your lingerie in a washing machine. This can damage the materials, colors, embroideries, or cause harmful rips.
  • Tumble dry. Lingerie should always dry naturally and be hung up carefully away from other garments.
  • Iron.
  • Dry clean.
  • Bleach.
